WElcome to World cultures and geography
The National Geographic Society defines geography as " the study of places and the relationships between people and their environments." Each region we study we will focus on physical geography, a brief historical overview, culture, government and the region's economy. For most, the first image that comes to mind when they hear geography is a map; however geography is much more. We will use maps in various ways as we engage in our study, but we will learn more than map skills and where things are located. Students will become more geo-literate as we progress throughout our studies. Our world is becoming increasingly interconnected. Engaging in projects (individual and group), participating in discussions and class activities, students will be able to experience the importance of learning about geography.
